North Korea and "1984"

Does this image remind you of a building in George Orwell's 1984? This is the Ryugyong Hotel, under construction in North Korea. Life described in 1984 is miserable, forlorn, and desperate. If you think it's all fantasy, think again. It's all happening, right now in one part of our world. In preparation for next week's book club meeting please inform yourself about life in North Korea. To get you started here's renowned journalist, Christopher Hitchens, describing his frightful visit to the hermit country.

Ohhh..I never knew that 1984 was actually happening..I mean that was so shocking...It was like even used animals (like the parrot)for propaganda.

Strange... But more evidence needs to be given upon these things that are actually happening for me to believe it, since just relying on one man's sightings is not enough evidence to supply the dangerous accusations that he is saying, nevertheless I find it truthful but I will research about it.

Haha the thing about the parrot was rather funny!
I never knew North Korea followed dictatorship to this extent. I can't imagine students in winchester saying the same about sheikh mohammed or sheikh khalifa? Perhaps we should consider ourselves lucky?
Very interesting

Wow... Its like another planet compared to Dubai. Its sad that propaganda and dictatorship is still being used to create a sense of fear among the people so that they can obey.
