I was going to do it on "How is your best friend different from you?" but then I realized you can't do much persuading on the topic.

^^ Its an old one but I have a few ideas on how to convince, and make it abit interesting.

I choose this, but I'm wondering if I can change the topic a little? Not 'American' family life, but just family life in general.

Mehvash, yeah, it's fine to focus only on family life.
It was very difficult to choose a topic, since all of them were very interesting and sparked something within me.
After numerous self-debates, I choose:
"Discuss the following quotation based on your experience and/or observation, "We would be ashamed of our finest acts if the world were aware of the motives behind them." -- Rochefoucauld."
Either that or:
Suicide among high school and college students is on the rise in this country. Discuss possible reasons why young people take their own lives.

Love that topic! :D Except, can I just talk about one's country of origin in general? Not any country in particular, but nationalistic spirit for everyone to have for their country.

but i was wondering if it would be okay if i talked about the effect child beauty contests have on the little girls who are put through them by their pushy parents?
if not i will choose "If you could donate a thousand dollars to a charity, which one would you choose? Why?"
