Why teenagers can't concentrate

Why teenagers can't concentrate: too much grey matter
UK research into teenagers' brains shows their mental processes are like those of younger children

Parents who despair over their teenagers' lack of concentration in class, inability to sit still long enough to finish homework or plan ahead, should take solace. Their children are not being lazy or careless – they are hapless victims of neurobiology.

Note to self: must make mother read!

I knew that such a large fraction of teens couldn't ALL be lazy! There, now it's even proven.

Hahaha, I just linked both my parents to this article.

It does sort of make me feel stupid though; I still have a child's brain? D:

Oh well, at least now I know why studying can be such a pain. (Y)

Come to think of it, if sufficient numbers of world renowned scientists endorsed this study then juvenile ADD might stop being regarded as a psychological disorder as then psychologists and psychiatrists all over the world will agree that this is the natural order of things related to teenagers' minds. By the way, Arizza, which car did you chase? Was it a Corvette ZR-1 or a Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 by any chance?:)

Funny that its at the same time that we have all this activity in our brains that it seems to be the most challenging times in our life mentally. So much is expected of us... When our brains haven't fully developed, my what a educational system we have. :D

This also explains why as teenagers and young adults we do dumb things. When I think back to some of the outrageous things I did in my youth I wonder what on earth prompted me to do it!

So go ahead and do all the crazy things you want to do 'cause when you get older your mature and "wiser" brain won't allow you to be silly. Haven't you noticed how boring and compliant a lot of adults are?

Haha, another disease for humanity!
Yes Mr. Roberts, tattoos? ;)
