Wow! Criss Angel meets Charlie Eppes of Nub3rs. One can only wonder if he was born with fundamentally higher numeracy skills than ost men, or did he hone them to near perfection?s

Woah!
I wonder how long it took him to learn mathemagic like that, i know it would take me a few lifetimes or so.

Whoa.
This was mind-boggling, as they say, haha. I tried working out the sums on my calculator and yes he was faster than ME -.- Pretty pissing off, but also quite wondrous, I never realized anyone could be so talented [or skillfull] at numbers.
Hats off to him :)

I agree with Daniel. True, it was extraordinary, but the same question that Daniel asked, i repeat. Was he born with the mental capacity, able to store numeric figures? Or did he just find a secret path to connect one figure to another, like the words he used, which represent numbers?

I don't see the "magic" in it, just a massive memory, but very impressive.

This summer I read about another human calculator that could do complicated mathematical sums in his head, but actually seeing someone do it is just astonishing... I bet he got great marks in maths when he was in school :)

I watched it twice and the second time i tried to calculate the sums..he had a few mistakes!
I dont understand why the people with the calculators were accepting his wrong answers!
i'm sure the people could not use the calculators fast enough so they just nodded yes..but then you have to admit that he got a few right too. I am impressed and I definetely enjoyed the video :)

OH MY GOD!
And I thought I spoke fast and was good at Math. Clearly, I was wrong.

This was very entertaining. He's really a genius. It WAS magic.

This is amazing! Its more than what many other Human calculators can do.

Wow, this is just amazing. Awesome. One of the best math magic tricks performed.

Thats unhuman...
Must be years upon years of practice and perfection...
And its great that he said what he did in the end, and yet he was quite right with: "I dont think anyone is going to be copying my show next week".
On a side note, I think that all these people who do these amazing conferences and speeches arent just geniuses in their subject. They also know how to work an audience and have a great knowledge of the world around them to make conversation and a few jokes inbetweem.

Wow. AMAZING, really impressive.

Now That's what you call "human calculator". You can't really call this magic, because magic has cheats. This math addict doesnt cheat at all. Or maybe he has earphones that's connected to someone calculating. Haha! This is awesome. I wonder how fast he can finish our math IGCSE exam.

wow that was absolutely brilliant!

This was simply amazing. I was in awe! I also wonder if he was born with a special capacity to calculate and store numbers like that...No matter what my mind thinks about this spectacular man.
HE IS TRULY GIFTED.

WOW!! absolutely amazing. I have heard of many maths tricks but well obviously to see them is really mind boggling. I joined a summer camp during our last summer holidays and we learnt maths there I was with a group of boys from Indian high and while solving our math problems I realized that I was the only one using a calculator an that is when I was told that in the Indian schools one was not allowed to use a calculator, not even in their year 12 exams!! I think that we have become to dependent on calculators and computers that we in a way have stopped using our brains, if from the beginning we were trained to be independent form these addicting "easy way outs" then I'm sure we all would have come up with easier simpler mental ways of solving such difficult
nevertheless this man is extremely intelligent!!!!

Unknown said...

Well that was extremely impressive. I wish I could do my maths like that. So a human brain can be faster than a calculator.

Do you think if any one of us practised for years we could be as good as he is? Or is this an in-born talent - like Michelangelo or Mozart?

Leah Simon said...

I think it's more of an inborn talent. I mean practise can make you good but not as good as this. Absolutely fantastic!

Unknown said...

Everyone is talented in different areas and his just happens to be in mathematics. I guess it could be achieved trough a LOT of practice, but is someone does manage to do it, I guess their talent won't be in maths but rather in quick learning or great memory, it definitely won't be the same talent shown in the video.

Wow!! That was great but I have had seen this kind of mathemagic live but instead of Arthur Benjamin it was the Indian mathematical genius Shakuntala Devi also known as the “Human Computer”. She came to The Elite English School Dubai and several other schools for math workshop. In 1980, Shakuntala Devi found a place in the Guinness Book of World Records for multiplying two randomly chosen 13-digit numbers in 28 seconds!!
