To be honest, it was not what i was expecting. It is an easy trick to play, as you just have to find the common things that occur to every human.
Everyone has dreams about their childhood, and you can easily mix some emphasism to convince the person its their dream. I, personally, do not believe in Psychics, but i do believe in tricking the mind, and people who can read what others are thinking, just by looking at them. If you realise, no-one said 100%, which states that some things were completely accurate, and others were not, such as the girl with the novel writing at 17 years of age, and, i am guessing, not everyone had that. He probably have had to try it on 50 different groups, ones that were chosen due to their common characteristics, till he came with one that was with all the 80%, 85%, 90%, 95% and even 99%.
Truthfully speaking, i didn't believe this to be fair, and 100% real, because its television, but i know people who can read people just by looking at them, and talking to them, not by tricking them into drawing each others hands and writing their bithrdate, just to confuse them. What happened in that video was not psychic, just an optic illusion basically.
True psychics, as we call them, are just people who have the time to observe many people, thus resulting in the ability to predict movements, actions and thoughts, and the ability to begin thinking like the person you are looking at. It is not hard to become like this, only you need a 100% focus. They can read people by looking at their faces, expressions, body language, even small details like winking, twitching, even the frequency of your laughter. They would tend to mentally note each person and who they are, then ask them, finding some or most of their predictions correct. That is a psychic, not some optic illusion, one that involves the mind to become "excited" and unclear, allowing many things to funnel itself inside the memory of a person. Yet its still not clear the exact steps the "psychic" in the video took, so i cannot comment on how he did it and (maybe) why, its fake.
Concluding with; its nothing to do with being Psychic.
First of all, the clown scared the hell out of me.
Secondly, I'm not surprised. Really not surprised. When it comes down to it, we all have the same wants at one point or another, we all must have wanted to write a book and then scrapped the idea because we felt it was stupid, we're all self-critical.
Thirdly, I'm going to agree with the above commenter. Since it's TV, we can't be sure if it's real or not. Coming down to that, I do believe in magic, mind-reading and all that crap (excuse the profanity) to some extent, but most psychics are just fantastic at reading people's body-language. Little motions, fidgets, finger-tapping - a psychic will all observe this from the corner of their eye and use it to their advantage; and people will believe it.
Hell, it's what I did when I played palm-reading games with my friends ;) You really can't determine who's a fraud and who's not, but it's always best to take everything with a grain of salt.
It is quite remarkable that different individuals have the same insecure feelings about themselves. But honestly, i don't think i believe that since its on TV and for all i know it could be another trick. I do not believe that there are TRUE psychics in the world who have the ability to read the past, present or future, but i do believe that there are people who have dedicated themselves to this art of unique and extensive observation, which may enable them to know certain aspects or personalties of the people that they see from their movements and actions.
Well I must say, I was expecting this kind of thing. Back home in Sri Lanka, many people visit a "kapuwa" (sinhalese word for fortune teller) before marriages to find out about the character of the bride or bride groom. I was always surprised when people say how accurate they were. Well now I know better.
And I think that this worked for so long, because as a commenter before said, we all have similar wants at some point in our lives. They simple give out some random comments in which one or two are going to be quite close.
Woah, I never would have expected that as the ending.
It's pretty ironic really, how all of us have so many of the same insecurities and ideas and a vast majority of the population don't even know it.
I guess the cliche "opposites attract" hardly means anything anymore!
This had a totally 180 degree flip to what i was actually expecting. For about 6 minutes, I really thought that this was the coolest thing ever- a completely accurate annalysis of you. It also proves how much time we waste on Facebook on similar personality quizzes.
I’d agree with Neiha the clown was scary.
I was blown seeing how well people were fooled. I never believe in Psychics and I knew that they just used tricks to deceive people but I was never able explain my reason. This video gave me the explanation I needed.
....Yusra Shah 10g1....
The first thing I would want to say is that, you cant trust the video. It could have all been planned like a movie script.Secondly, if you notice He targets around 5 people with not much of an age difference and then writes the analysis down.Maybe because of this reason everyone believes the analysis at first.Because people of the same age may have same wants or thoughts and thats why it wouldnt be hard enough to write down many things that are common amongst those people.
Sonal V,
Derren Brown is a famous illusionist in the UK. It's good to be sceptical about the video - as many things can be faked - Chris Angel's MindFreak is notorious for it. But the same thing happens everyday when people read their horoscopes in the newspapers. And do you really believe someone can read a crystal ball or predict your future?
Why don't you try out an experiment on cold reading and see if it works? I'd be very interested in your results :)
Frankly speaking, I have never believed in psychics and their readings and I never will. In my opinion, psychics are a direct product of joblessness.
I, for one, believe in science and its investigated theories. Only the most jobless of minds find themselves incapable of understanding and supporting science and its teachings and therefore resort to concocting their own theories and methods to explain how things in this world work until they eventually discover 'Easter Eggs' such as the technique of cold reading.
wow that was different, so everyone is connected in one way or another.
Ive alwase wanted to go to a fourtune teller it looks like fun!
But I hope they dont have any clowns there.g
i honestly did not expect the ending part. it's kinda funny how that worked out. i guess we're all alike in some way or another
It was amazing and not what i was expecting at all. I think that certain individuals have this gift. It is believable. But sometimes those who try to imitate it and use their gift just to make a quick buck.
The fact that he wrote it before he even met them is spactacular. The part about the lady and her novel was not something like a horoscope where its gemeral. Instead it was totally personal.
Im amazed.

Psychometric reading involves reading of an object or a possession that is very close to an individual. It says that these objects due to their proximity with the individual gain some amount of energy from that individual.
