Natasha's Book Review

One Night at the Call Centre by Chetan Bhagat
Review by Natasha Haroon
This novel revolves around six people who work at a call centre. The six characters in the story are ordinary people. Each one has personal problems, and different ways to cope with life. What is good about this book is that all characters are real and we can relate to them. They have a daily routine and have many things to worry about in their everyday life. Something we all can relate to. Each character has their story and many of us do come across problems they face like coping with an annoying boss, being stuck with a job one is not interested in doing, confusions about your love-life or being stuck with an annoying and a demanding mother-in-law because of the husband.

Sometimes we just let things be the way they are thinking its fate. People learn to compromise and cope with life. They wish things could change but they do not realise that they have to sort out their lives themselves and not everything needs to be left to fate or God. One shouldn’t blame Him for all the wrong things happening to us because somewhere we a responsible and we have to use our mind to think how to sort out the mess.

In this novel God Himself calls and give them suggestions on how to improve their lives. So basically sometimes we need someone who opens our eyes and help us, whether it is God or someone sent by Him.

What makes this book an interesting read are the real characters. They are people one can identify with. One can learn this very important lesson of life through this book. People should have a go with this book.
